Dear Summer: Oh how I love you. With your snow cones and long days. Stay forever (I'll bribe you if I have to)!! Dear Puffy, Swollen, Hideous Eye: Please get better (like TODAY would be great) and look normal, so that when I go to TJMaxx the clerk doesn't gasp in horror and say "OMG what's wrong with your eye!!!?" Dear Magic Mike: Is it bad that I kind of want to see you? But only for Joe Manganiello. Sorry Matthew. Dear Ski Boat: Oh how excited I am to be boating with you again in one short day! How I've missed you! Dear Davis' Diapers: Can you please stop smelling like death just crawled out of his bum? I can't handle your smell anymore! Dear White Skin: Please decide to be less white and show me some COLOR! Dear Mechanic: Next time you shower, please do it again. And repeat. My car smells of stinky cheese now. Thanks for that. Dear Kind Almond & Coconut Bars: Oh man..where have you been all my life? I'm in love.

Confessions.

It's CONFESSION DAY. Buckle up.

I think there are a couple things you should know about me. 

It's really hard for me to talk about. 

I mean...these are SERIOUS confessions (ok maybe not really).

Can you handle it?

I DON'T WASH MY FACE EVERY NIGHT. 

Gasp! (I told you it was serious) Ok...sometimes I'm just TOO tired. Sometimes I'm just TOO lazy. 

And sometimes I will get my face wet and then change my mind and go to bed. Oh man. 

Working on it though...slowly :) 

I AM TERRIFIED OF BEING ALONE IN MY HOUSE AT NIGHT.

I never used to be. I don't know if it happened after I got married or what, but I hate it. If my husband goes out of town (which is often) I usually go stay at my parents house or BEG my sisters to come and stay with me. I just feel like something terrible is going to happen to me. EVERY little noise I hear I assume is some crazy psycho ax murderer coming to get me!! I think that's super realistic, don't you? :)

This was me the other night at my parents (sleeping over, watching a movie) 

cause I was too scared to stay home alone. 

I FREAK OUT IF THERE ARE NO TOILET SEAT COVERS IN PUBLIC RESTROOMS.

This one time, I walked into a seemingly normal (but very FULL) public restroom. Grabbed the only stall available. Started to unbutton my pants, and then..it happened. NO TOILET SEAT COVERS! And  only enough toilet paper to do my biz. What's a girl to do? Yup...squat it up! But...my thighs gave out and I fell onto the seat. The very warm seat. I may have let out a tiny squeal of disgust.
Scarred me for LIFE.

I can't help it. I would rather HOLD it than use a toilet that doesn't have toilet seat covers!

I OBSESS OVER EVERYTHING I DO AS A MOM. 

This is actually a serious one for me. Once I became a Mom last year, I began to obsess over EVERY little thing I did with him. Am I teaching him enough? Am I giving him the right foods? Is he having all the fun he should be having? Am I spending enough quality time with him? Are we reading enough books? Is  he supposed to be talking WAY more than he is at this point? It goes on and on. I'm sure one day I'll realize that what I'm doing IS good enough, and not to let it bother me. But at this point I'm not quite there yet.

I mean...he looks pretty happy...so I guess I'm an ok Mama :)

I hate Ryan - glad he went home. 

I love me some Sean & Jef (esp. his hair--I'm not really sure why--that usually doesn't do it for me :)

I am kind of bugged by Emily herself. Is that mean? 

I mean SERIOUSLY Ryan? A wifebeater? None the less an absolutely HIDEOUS one. NO NO NO.

HAPPY ONE YEAR DAVIS!!!

 Today is all about Davis. Yes, I had a birthday too - but when you have a baby (as you Mama's well know I'm sure) it becomes ALL about the babe! Especially when your Birthdays are 4 days apart! 

I am TOTALLY OK with it...I kinda like the kid. :)

So...HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVIS!

Last weekend was the celebration weekend! I totally said I would NEVER be one of those Moms who throws "BIG BASHES" for a one-year-old party...ummmm...can I take that back? 

It's just so hard NOT to throw a big party! We just had our families over (no friends yet) and it was really a blast! We called it...

"DAVIS' MUSTACHE BASH"!!!

{We set up a PHOTO BOOTH -- with a Pick Your Prop basket-o-fun! Pretty dang funny -- people's personalities really come out when they put wigs & mustaches on!!} 

{I MAY have made a ONE YEAR VIDEO for Davis and had it on rotation the entire party. Heehee.}

{I made up a little SCAVENGER HUNT for the kiddos--to keep them entertained..

I laughed so hard at how organized they were about it--closing their eyes, 

sitting in a circle and doing it in such an orderly fashion! What kids do that? :)}

I was OBSESSED with Davis' shirt--but I could not get him to sit still for a minute to take a pic of him wearing it (go figure!). And he seriously got SPOILED with all of the presents (ok, ok, some of them were for me -- like the Red Rider ;)

We had SUCH a fun time!! Thanks to every one of my family members who came/helped/gave a gift..etc..LOVE YOU ALL!!

Dear Davis, 

HAPPY ONE YEAR (today) to my little monkey! You really are the BEST thing that has ever happened to me! I can't believe ONE YEAR ago I was in the hospital, grunting and making all kinds of unnatractive noises (TMI?)...but then there you were and my life changed forever. I could cry just thinking about how much I love you. You are a just a ball of joy & love...and I wouldn't have it any other way. I love you more than you know!

The Last Things Thursdays {#13}

Happy Thursday!

Since Saturday is my 28th Birthday, I thought I'd do a Birthday Edition today!

Cause maybe THAT will make me feel better about turning 28.

Yes, I know...28 is not that old. But to me, it is a BIG number for some reason. 

And don't any of you dare tell me that "I'm so young" or "I only WISH I was 28 again" 

or I WILL cut ya - Bon Qui Qui style! :)

If I could pick a perfect meal for my birthday it would be:

Bleu Cheese Chips from Bambara. 

Rosemary Flatbread (goat cheese, carmelized onions & tomatoes) from Trio.

And a big old slice of Godiva Cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory. 

Yup, that would be divine.

{WANTED TO BUY MYSELF FOR MY BIRTHDAY}

Ok, please tell me I'm not the ONLY one who wants to buy themselves presents and then give it to their spouse and tell them "good job you got me JUST what I wanted"!? Anyone? ;)

So yesterday, I went on a little shopping spree with Brittany (GNO!!) and bought me some things I wanted. It was fantastic!!

We both bought the same wallet - TWINSIES! Ha.
