Spring Bucket List

Happy first day of S P R I N G!! Even though it IS raining and super dark over at my house today, I can still feel Spring in the air! I love me some sunny, beautiful days (who doesn't, though?).We have been having some awesome days in March so far, and have been fully taking advantage of being able to be outside!

I decided to make another one of my BUCKET LISTS (I did SUMMER & FALL ones last year) for Spring - cause I'm a crazy list maker like that. Otherwise, I forget everything I want to do.

So, here is our SPRING BUCKET LIST! What would YOU add to the list for your fam?

Family Room Redo

We've lived in our house for a little over 3 years now (wowzers!), and I am just getting around to REALLY designing/decorating it the way I want. I first did my Master Bedroom (painted it, painted the nightstands, got new accessories, etc..) and I love it now. It's such a HAPPY PLACE. I think if you're going to L I V E in a space, you should love it, and it should make you feel happy the second you walk in.

Now, it's on to my family room (where we spend the most time, hands down). I don't know why it's taken me so long to redo it, but it has. I guess life has been happening. Aw life..you are a wild thang, you. :)

When you walk into my family room now, it feels SO-SO to me. I mean, I could list off a hundred things I don't like about it, but I won't. It IS a good (but small) space...it just needs some paint, a couple new chairs, some new shelving, a smaller ottoman, new lights, and some pillows & accessories to make it feel more home-y. No big deal, right? Hehe.

We'll call these the BEFORE PICS. :)

I saw a necklace at Anthropologie a while back, and of course, now I can't find a pic of it. But that necklace was the single inspiration piece for my entire family room redo. It was a huge chunky gold necklace, with navy, coral & mint jewels. I mean, it was stun-ning. I should've bought it..but alas, I didn't. That's one I regret not getting for sure.

My Color Inspiration for the NEW ROOM:

Inspiration pics are good for the soul, I think. They get those creative juices flowing.
So, now it's onto my FAMILY ROOM REDO. I hope to be done with it in the next month or so, and I'll be posting the AFTER pics for sure.

Yup, that's what I'll be working on this weekend!
Have a HAPPY WEEKEND, my cute friends!

High Five For Friday!

My hubby has been traveling for work this week, and taking care of an all-of-a-sudden-super-needy-toddler has been super hard on me. D literally won't leave my side, and cries everytime I do. Anyone else experience this? If you've got any advice for me, that'd be MUCHO MUCHO appreciate it. This kid is killin' me this week. Love him, but man oh man. Can't a girl pee in privacy? ;)

So, needless to say I'm SUPER HAPPY it's Friday! Date night tonight, and a fun weekend ahead. PLUS it's been super sunny & warm around here (well, warm for March here anyway) - and I'll totally take it.

Time to shop by myself this week was MUCH needed. I couldn't say no to this jacket...it just screamed BUY MEEEEE! So I did. Jacket pressure.
I fully plan on wearing it tonight on date night.

This busy board my hubby & I made for Davis was a H U G E hit with him!!
He plays with it every day. His favorite thing on there? The door stopper.
Whoulda thunk it?

Warm Days = Happy Mom/D
The 51 degree weather called for a park day! Plus, him saying "HAND" when he wants to hold my hand now just melts my heart. Happy moment.

Happy Mail - From The Gnarly Whale.
This stuff smells amaaaaaaaaazing and actually WORKS! Go figure.
Plus my hubby keeps smelling my hair, which is always a good sign! :)

Fun times with new/old friends at the PEEK EVENT hosted by Moms Best Network
Had so much fun with these girls & our kiddos. It's events like these that make me love being a blogger even more!

There ya have it. Happy little moments from my week! How was yours?!
And HAPPY WEEKEND, cute friends!!

Super Yummy Super Healthy Energy Bites

Energy Bites
Yesterday, my sister came over to my house to hang out. Every times she comes over, it always seems like we end up making something in the kitchen together. Usually, it's a super fatty treat (the little evil guy on my shoulder was shouting - make cupcakes! Make cupcakes!). But I've been trying to eat way healthier lately (curse you Candy Hearts & Cadbury Mini Eggs), so we opted for this little treat.

I originally had kind of a general recipe in my head, but then...it became just kind of a "dump-everything-I-had-in-my-pantry-that-was-healthyish-into-a-bowl" kind of recipe. Which sometimes, actually works out for the best.

Healthy Energy Bites Even better? They are super yummy! Yes healthy, but I dare you to not want to eat the whole batch of them (don't do that like I wanted to..or it kind of defeats the purpose of the "healthy" part of it). They ARE high in good fats for you, though. So eat, up my friends. Get some of these bites in ya belly, why dontcha!?

I dubbed these.....(a mouthful I know)

SUPER YUMMY SUPER HEALTHY ENERGY BITES
**Makes about 24 Small Bite Sized Balls

INGREDIENTS:
1/2 Cup Fresh Ground Almond Butter (I like the fresh stuff at Whole Foods you can grind yourself)
1/2 Cup Fresh Peanut Butter (you can use canned too...either way)
1/4 Cup Honey
1/2 Tsp. Cinnamon
1 Cup Oatmeal (ground up in blender)
1/4 Cup Shredded Coconut
1/4 Cup Cranberries
1/2 Cup Sunflower Seeds (unsalted)
1/2 Cup Granola (ours had almonds & walnuts already in it, which is yummier too!)
1/3 Cup Flax or Chia Seeds

Get a huge bowl to start. Scoop in the Almond & Peanut Butters into the bowl. Then add the honey & cinnamon to it and stir. Grind the oatmeal in a blender for about 30 seconds (just until its smooth, like flour). Gently pour the oatmeal into the mixture and keep stirring. You CAN put it in Kitchenaid Blender if you want..but they are pretty easy to stir once you get going. Then,  just dump everything else into the mix and keep stirring until it starts to form a thick yummy gooey mess (technical term).

Next, just roll into small bite size balls. Take a cookie sheet, cover it with parchment paper, and place the balls on the sheet. Refrigerate for about 15 minutes. Then ENJOY!

Easy peasy! Don't they look scrump-diddly-umptious?
Thanks Willy Wonka for that awesome word, by the way.
Healthy Energy Bites

I'll probably freeze some of mine and take them out every once in a while. They are dang yummy & I feel much better popping one of these in my mouth than an entire Cadbury Egg. Although..who am I kidding...that will probably happen sooner than I like to admit.

These are great to eat if you're having a sweet or salty craving...or to pop in your mouth at night after a workout...or if you're just sitting in front of the TV watching The Bachelor. Hey..no judgment here!
