There. I said it.
I'm a "Bad Blogger" because.....
I don't answer every single email I get RIGHT when I get it.
And I don't check my email everyday.
I don't link-up to ALL the link-up parties (nor do I WANT to).
There are just TOO MANY!
I don't reply to all the comments I get on each post I write. (Say Whaaaa?)
I have a "private" Instagram.
I don't ever respond to the "No-Reply-Comments" - because I don't want to go through the hula-ba-loo of finding that persons blog, then their email, then bringing up their email and THEN responding. Nah - no thank you.
I don't follow the "rules of blogging" like I've seen so much of lately.
I don't post something THRILLING every day.
I don't have a fancy-schmancy camera to take pictures with.
I don't constantly check Twitter like it's going out of style
AND I forget to tweet back sometimes. (GASP!)
I don't do WIWW every week (cause some days I DON'T even get out of my pajamas).
I don't constantly check my "numbers." I just don't.
SO...sorry to tell you, but if you do these things too..then you're a bad blogger.
And that's TOTALLY OK. Be you. Do what you want. (Or don't. Don't let me tell you how to blog)
BE YOUR OWN PERSON. DO WHAT YOU WANT. BLOG HOW YOU WANT.
That's why you started blogging in the FIRST place, right?
-------------------------------------------------------
And now for the reason why I'm NOT the best blogger ever....
Amen sister!
ReplyDeleteSaid it perfectly!
ReplyDeletePersonally, I really don't like when I get a reply to a comment just because that blogger feels like the have to respond. If you have something to say back, then you can reply, otherwise it doesn't really matter to me!
I also don't comment on posts unless I feel like I need to say something hah :)
I'm a bad blogger, but I don't have a cute little one to justify it! :-/ Oops.
ReplyDeleteYes and yes! There are some silly faux pas of blogging. Let's just all blog to blog and not care about these little networking rules!
ReplyDeleteI think he's a good reason ;) No judgement from me, mama!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this post...and I'm definitely a bad blogger too! But I'm happy and have a great life, so I'm fine with it :) And I'm pretty sure being an awesome mom (which you definitely are!) trumps being a "good" blogger any day! xoxo
ReplyDeleteYes! You're an awesome blogger, because you are authentic! Love you for this. There is no way I could do it all...it's like you were describing me! xoxo sweet girl:)
ReplyDeletePS Feel in no way pressured to respond to this;)
You rock! That's all I have to say
ReplyDeleteI'm the same way. I started blogging to document my college internship. It's been fun to gain readers and make friends with other bloggers, but it's not my life. I hope no one is giving you a hard time for not responding to every comment and e-mail. That's terrible!
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking the pressure off! :o) I always enjoy reading but it's okay that you don't comment back.
ReplyDeleteI guess I'm a bad blogger too! I really just don't have time to be a "good blogger" if I want to be a "good mommy". Thanks for sharing this. There will be a time and a place I may be able to devote more time to my blog in the future....but for right now, I'm right there with ya!

The Mrs. and The Momma
I'm a bad blogger too!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove this post! Totally agree! :)
ReplyDeleteYou mean you have a life outside blogging? AND you chose to blog because it's fun way to be interactive, express yourself, share your ideas and joys and genius wit, vent the mundane, and not have to comply with any deadline but your own self imposed - meaning it's there when you want to and you don't feel obligated to please your readers EVERY.SINGLE.DAY? Horrible... simply horrible...
ReplyDeleteok- sarcasm contained... I like your blog... :) keep on keepin' on.. :)
i think you have a pretty good excuse :)
ReplyDeleteand if you didn't have a life outside blogging your blog wouldn't be as great as it is.
I'm new to blogging but I know that at times I am going to be a bad blogger! Real life outside of the computer gets in the way and many people have other commitments. I am going into blogging knowing that some days I might not have time to post, but on the days when I do, I am going to make it worth it :)
ReplyDeleteOh DIDO!! I am probably the worst blogger... except my instagram is public. Ha ha, totally joking! It's just exhausting to try and keep up with it all. I'd rather keep up with real life and when I have time? I get to those emails (I currently have over 700 to get to. Kill me now!)
ReplyDeleteLove this post Jenna! It's too hard to get caught up in all that stuff all the time! Just blog when you can about what you can and people will either read it or not. well said!
ReplyDeleteIs anyone a "good blogger" then? That's what I'd like to know. :P
ReplyDeleteI'm an awful blogger sometimes, but whatever... its just what happens somedays!
ReplyDeleteToo much to keep up with to be a good blogger! When i first started (like 2 weeks ago ha) i didn't realize you could respond to comments via email. so I was just commenting on their blogs
ReplyDeleteSeems like a pretty adorable reason!
ReplyDeleteI love this post! Im a new follower!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness. This is so me! I'm so glad to see that I'm not alone!
ReplyDeleteI love this post Jenna. Sometimes it's okay to be a bad blogger. People don't realize we live our lives outside of this blog and don't have time for emails everyday. You're doing a great job & don't let anyone else tell you differently!!
ReplyDeletedido!
ReplyDeleteI love this, I don't do all of that either, its too much.
ReplyDeletexoxo
Thank you so much for this! It's refreshing to know I'm not alone!
ReplyDeleteSuch a great post! And for the record, I think you're an amazing blogger!
ReplyDeleteI love this post.. I don't post according to all the rules either! I guess that makes me a bad blogger!

ReplyDeletei am right there with you, girl. and it's more than ok to be a "bad blogger."
ReplyDeleteAmen sister! 100% with ya ;) xo
ReplyDeleterebel! lol I love you no matter what...and half those things on that list are on mine as well! so we are both bad bloggers! Lol
ReplyDeleteHi Jenna,
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog by way of justlove.ly. I kept shaking my head in agreement as I read this post, especially the instragram one and twitter one! I'm private on insta and also terrible at keeping up with twitter. :-p It's nice to read a post that's not only humble but honest about the challenges of being a blogger and a wife and a mom and a jewelry designer, among many other roles, I am sure. :)
ha ha, it's ok, I'm breaking a majority of those rules too- and in fact, I don't even have a twitter account!! *gasp*
ReplyDeleteHahaha girl! I KNOW what you mean!!! Sometimes I feel like a horrible blogger too. Especially with replying to comments. I just don't normally have the time. But I love that you admitted it :) Just makes it all the more funny!
ReplyDeleteLove this...such a good reminder! And I think I'm okay with being a bad blogger...it is a lot less stressful!
ReplyDeleteI think it's more like you have your hands full LOL
ReplyDeleteHS
I think according to this I'm a mediocre blogger, and that's ok too. Though I don't have quite as cute of a reason as you do!
ReplyDeletewish there was a like button :)
ReplyDeleteYou are such a wonderful person! I think everyone is bad at blogging. And let's be honest, where is the rules of blogging at? ;) Keep doing what you are doing! I love your blog!
ReplyDeleteXO
This post is awesome! I loved every reason you gave to be a bad blogger!
ReplyDeleteBad Bloggers Unite!
Ummm you're "bad blogger" list could totally be my own! I have been terrible, and the last couple weeks it's been so much worse!!! I blame most of it on the summer and my allergy/humidity brain. lol. I don't have much motivation lately. I need to get back in it! No worries though, we still love your blog & you!!! =) xo
ReplyDeleteI love this post because it makes me feel so much better about being a bad blogger! You made me smile! :)
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love this! And I totally agree. =) Real life is FAR more important than any form of social media.
ReplyDeleteAlesha <3
amen.
ReplyDeletelove this post! many of these are on my list too... and i don't even have kids yet! family, friends, jobs, adventures... all of those are more important that blogging... and numbers! it drives me crazy when people are obsessed with the number of followers they have!
ReplyDeleteI don't think you're a bad blogger for doing those things! You blog for you not anyone else and you don't need to answer every single comment. Not everyone needs to see your instagram pics. I'll still read your blog :)
ReplyDeleteLove this to death! Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHeh heh! I guess the "perfect blogger" can be quite boring =) Let's mix it up and not follow the rules for a change! xo Anja
