Confessions.

It's CONFESSION DAY. Buckle up.

I think there are a couple things you should know about me.
It's really hard for me to talk about.
I mean...these are SERIOUS confessions (ok maybe not really).
Can you handle it?

I DON'T WASH MY FACE EVERY NIGHT.
Gasp! (I told you it was serious) Ok...sometimes I'm just TOO tired. Sometimes I'm just TOO lazy.
And sometimes I will get my face wet and then change my mind and go to bed. Oh man.
Working on it though...slowly :)

I AM TERRIFIED OF BEING ALONE IN MY HOUSE AT NIGHT.
I never used to be. I don't know if it happened after I got married or what, but I hate it. If my husband goes out of town (which is often) I usually go stay at my parents house or BEG my sisters to come and stay with me. I just feel like something terrible is going to happen to me. EVERY little noise I hear I assume is some crazy psycho ax murderer coming to get me!! I think that's super realistic, don't you? :)
This was me the other night at my parents (sleeping over, watching a movie)
cause I was too scared to stay home alone.

I FREAK OUT IF THERE ARE NO TOILET SEAT COVERS IN PUBLIC RESTROOMS.
This one time, I walked into a seemingly normal (but very FULL) public restroom. Grabbed the only stall available. Started to unbutton my pants, and then..it happened. NO TOILET SEAT COVERS! And  only enough toilet paper to do my biz. What's a girl to do? Yup...squat it up! But...my thighs gave out and I fell onto the seat. The very warm seat. I may have let out a tiny squeal of disgust.
Scarred me for LIFE.
I can't help it. I would rather HOLD it than use a toilet that doesn't have toilet seat covers!
Yucky yucky.
My thoughts EXACTLY.

I OBSESS OVER EVERYTHING I DO AS A MOM.
This is actually a serious one for me. Once I became a Mom last year, I began to obsess over EVERY little thing I did with him. Am I teaching him enough? Am I giving him the right foods? Is he having all the fun he should be having? Am I spending enough quality time with him? Are we reading enough books? Is  he supposed to be talking WAY more than he is at this point? It goes on and on. I'm sure one day I'll realize that what I'm doing IS good enough, and not to let it bother me. But at this point I'm not quite there yet.

I mean...he looks pretty happy...so I guess I'm an ok Mama :)

  1. I feel the same way about public toilet seats. I can't, I just can't.

Yes! Davis is a lucky little boy to have you as his mama.

  2. Ha, I can so relate about the face washing. I leave my makeup on until I am so. dog. tired. that I can't possibly be bothered to go through my face washing routine. I mean, if I took it off when I was still awake there is potential that I still might be seen by someone, lol! I started keeping face cleansing wipes (I like the Simple brand) by my bed and more often than not I just use those to get most of the makeup off and call it good :)

  3. I am so bad about washing my face every night. I'm good about it for about a week and then it's back to not washing.

  4. I HAVE to wash my face every night. I don't know why but if I don't then it'll drive me crazy.

  5. If ONLY I didn't have to wash my face every night.... :( So jealous! Because I HATE washing my face.
And I am the exact same way about public restrooms :) Ha ha!

  7. I am TOTALLY the same way about public restrooms -- hate them! I even double-cover the seats with seat covers.. is that weird? xo

  8. I totally count using those make-up wipes as washing my face. Depending on how tired I am, relates directly with my shortcuts in my bedtime routine!

  9. Soooo I NEVER wash my face... I never have and was lucky enough to never have issues in terms of acne... until now- since my son has been born (10 months) my skin hates me.. I just now decided to add face washing to my nightly routine.. not happy about it.
Also- I HATE being alone at my house! I get scared of crazy axe murderers even with my husband sleeping next to me! AKA I am right there with you on the overnight stays with my parents/sister whenever the hubs is out of town!

  10. i've never washed my face or put on make up - ha! at this point, i wouldn't even know where to begin! the positives: i've saved lots of time and money the negative: when i do get a blemish - i have no way to hide it! :)

  14. I feel the exact same way about being home alone at night. If my husband has to stay out in the field over night, I always head back to my parents house. What am i going to do when we move far away from my parents?!?! AH!

  15. Jenna - I just love you!!! And uh...now I know we are so the same person.
I can relate to every single one of these...seriously.
I pull all nighters when the hubs is away so I can be on night watch. I don't wash my face every night because the pillow looks far more comfortable, public restrooms are the enemy and lastly I am terrified I am always doing something that's going to mess my kids up.
You are a WONDERFUL Mama and Davis is so incredibly lucky to have you watch over him.
    Love ya lady!

  16. I forever think an ax murder is out to get me, you're not alone!

  17. I hate staying home by myself at night as well. I always have. When I was in high school and wasn't sure if my parents were home, I would call them to find out if they were home. If they weren't, I didn't go home yet. I completely relate to feeling like every noise is a crazy psycho ax murderer coming to get me.

  18. omg seriously this could have been me that wrote this post today!

  19. My husband worked nights for the first year of our marriage, so I had a lot of nights staying home alone...it was never fun. My thing was I always closed all the blinds before it got dark because to me the scariest thing would be looking out a window in the dark and seeing a face looking in!

  20. Yeah I hate being home alone at night...my husband gives me a hard time because when he is out of town I load up the kids and head over to my mom's...can you say wimp!?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Oh I dont wash my face every night either. So bad:(

    ReplyDelete
  22. I read each of these and nodded my head yes. I hate being home alone the most though.

  23. Oh I'm so glad I'm not the only lazy face washer!

  24. Eeeewww.. with the toilet seat. I always squat, with a cover on ever. And you are one of the best mommas I know- super cute picture of D!! LOVE YOU!

    ReplyDelete
  25. You wouldn't last a single day in Texas!! I swear these people have NEVER heard of toilet seat covers. The first thing I noticed when we moved here last year is that not a single public bathroom has them (except the brand new In n Out that was just built, but that's because it's from Cali :) It grosses me out every. single. time.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I can relate to every single one of those! Well actually apart from washing your face bit, I do that in the shower when I take my makeup off that counts right :) Im not a Mum but I think thats a big part of me not wanting to have kids is that I think I will be a stress head and turn into a wrap the kid in cotton wool obsessed freak :(

  29. What's even worse than sitting down on a public toilet seat and realizing it's warm is standing up from one and realizing your leg is wet. HOW DID I MISS THAT?? haha - yeahhhh. In other news, your son is a cutie patootie!

  30. I'm with you about being an obsessive mama. I don't think there is anything wrong with that! :)

  31. confession: i don't wash my face every night either but have started washing it earlier so i don't use the excuse of i am too tried. another confession: i don't be alone in my house at night either, hate it!

  32. OMG. I just yelped and squirmed violently from reading about the warm toilet seat. I think I might just go die. Touching a public toilet seat is my WORST NIGHTMARE.

I totally freak out over being home alone too! I love to crash at my parents' house. It's like a safe little bubble!
